I am new to Harris Teeter having just moved to NC. I have been in 3 different HT stores. I have found them to be spacious with wide aisles.
I have had trouble finding items both because I am not familiar with the stores and the aisle labels are not as easy to read as they could be. The refrigerated sections are labeled on the wall overhead. Legible if you are approaching the section but indecipherable if traveling along the refrigerated section.
The self check out is nice if you only have a few items. Several times I noticed that the clerked check outs are severely backed up; perhaps 5 or more waiting to check out. When that happens, they should open another lane.
