My kids and I go to this Dollar General Store quite often since it's conveniently located near our home. It's our first stop before hitting up the Publix down the street.
We stopped by this particular Dollar General Store (#18359) to purchase a few non-perishable canned goods to donate to the local Homeless Veterans Thanksgiving dinner. We found two of the three items and went to pay at the register. I was telling the cashier what the kids and I were doing and how we were unable to find canned cranberry jelly. He pointed us to the aisle where they were stocked and there wasn't any more. He asked me if I could wait a minute so he could check the back to see if he had some in the back storage area. Viola- he comes out with three six-packs of the canned cranberry jelly. This young man's name was Jason. Did he have to go in the back to check? No, he could have just proceeded to close the transaction and moved on but instead not only helped me out but he also helped feed our local homeless Veterans. Excellent customer service is hard to come by nowadays and everyone calls to complain rather than compliment. I wanted to make sure that this young gentlemen gets some recognition for going above and beyond what one would normally do.
Just so you know, I am not related to anyone who works at this store nor do I know anyone who works at any Dollar General Store. I just appreciate great customer service and believe that those who provide great customer service should be recognized and applauded. Kudos JASON!
